New Features

Connections and Role Explorer v.1.38.0

Deployment date: 30/05/2024

We deliver these releases to improve your experience and the value, functionality, and features of StaffCircle.

This release update provides you with a brief, high-level description of any new and updated features along with any bugs that have been fixed.

TLDR; HRIS Connectors via Kombo.Dev are available within the Integrations module to streamline implementation and HRIS migrations. The new Role Explorer feature enables you to visualise your organisation based on the roles and progression lines you've set-up.

Connections👈

Setting up and managing a HRIS connection

A full run-through of setting up your HRIS Connector can be found here: HRIS Connectors Set-Up

Before you get started

  • Make sure you've got access to your HRIS providers API key, you'll need that so we can connect to your dataset.
  • You'll also need the permission to view and administer the Integrations module within StaffCircle (if you don't have access you can speak to your platform Admin or Customer Support).

Making the connection

From within Settings>Integrations>Available Connectors select your HRIS provider.

You'll be presented with a pop-up to confirm you want to make the connection.

After clicking Yes, Install Connector a set of pop-ups will then appear to:

  • Confirm what information we'll be syncing to StaffCircle, and
  • Request your API key

After entering your API Key and clicking Set up integration you'll have visual confirmation that the connection has been made.

Managing your connector

From within the connector you can:

  • Disconnect and Reconnect the HRIS provider (if you do this you'll need to go through the same steps as above to re-establish the connection)
  • Apply sync settings:
    • Auto Sync: People information is automatically synced to StaffCircle and will take place approximately every 3 hours.
    • Sync All: People in the person table will be automatically flagged as users that can be synced to StaffCircle.

Beneath the settings will be your People table which will show all users that you have within your HRIS provider. Please note that these people have not yet been synced to StaffCircle, they are sat in a staging table waiting to be synced.

You can now:

  • Fetch additional people data that may have changed between now and the last auto-sync.
  • Pick which users to set as "Should Sync" to enable their records to be updated

Role Explorer🔎

As an administrator of the platform you can now visualise your organisation based on how your roles are structured. This is a complimenting feature to the recent Career Development Plan and Succession Planning features release throughout March and April this year.

Within People & Groups>Configuration>Roles you'll see a Role Explorer button next to the Add.

Clicking this will open a left-to-right progression chart of all starting roles within your organisation.

Using the expand and collapse icons will then show your full organisation structure by Role progression.

Roles can be filtered further based on Role Title and roles outside of a progression line or roles where no one is currently in the position.

It's appreciated that creating progression lines from a list of roles isn't always the easiest to do, so you can put your Role Explorer into edit mode and then build your progression lines this way!

And if you've got any tweaks to make to role titles or associated skills, whilst in edit mode you can edit existing roles.
