Succession Planning v.1.34.0
We deliver these releases to improve your experience and the value, functionality, and features of StaffCircle.
This release update provides you with a brief, high-level description of any new and updated features along with any bugs that have been fixed.
TLDR; A new beta feature is enabled to help you visualise people in your organisation based on role, potential next role, current skills, skills caps and competency percentages.
Enabling Succession Planning
Using the Search Bar type "Beta Features" and select "View beta features" or go to Settings>Organization & Branding>Beta Features and toggle on "Succession Planning Dashboard".
A new menu option will be available within Performance>Insights>Succession Planning as well as a new search term, "View succession planning dashboard".
What can you use the dashboard for?
The Succession Planning Dashboard has been designed to cover use cases that span employee succession planning, understanding training and skill gaps/needs as well as seeing how your employees align to the organizational competencies.
A particular favourite of ours is being able to use the filters to select the "Next Potential Role" and, based on who has the selected role in their progression line, you're presented with a list of people to consider for internal promotion and can see where they sit in comparison to one another. This view allows you to take into consideration the tenure they've had at the company and in their current role, what skill level gaps they might have or where they are in surplus to the role requirements, along with how they score against your competencies. It's like the 9 box grid, except it takes into consideration so many other factors.
What information feeds the dashboard?
Something we love about our platform is the amount of data it holds, especially around employee skills and engagement levels. With that in mind the following elements contribute to the information you can see in the Succession Planning Dashboard:
- Review scores from the Reviewer, Internal Reviewer and Direct Reports
- Objective progress and completion
- Awards
- Culture and Performance Real-Time Feedback
- Role Progression (this article explains how to set this up: "Roles: Adding Role Progression")
- Skills and Skill Levels
For each individual on the Succession Planning Dashboard, you're able to access a summary panel and view the specific information feeding their competencie scores.
