We deliver these updates to enhance your experience with StaffCircle, improving its value, functionality, and features.
TLDR; Connect to LinkedIn Learning Enterprise, Udemy Business, or Cornerstone to keep course information up to date in your StaffCircle platform. Also update objectives based on course completion in your LMS. It just got even easier to keep everything connected.
LMS Connectors
If you've enabled the 'Unified Training Database and Training Objectives' feature in your account, you'll notice a new tab is available from within Settings>Course Library, called "LMS Connectors" (these connectors are also available via Settings>Integrations but do require the Training features to be enabled to fully utilise the LMS course data).
For additional set-up information, please see the following guides:
What's the benefit?
The StaffCircle platform focuses on Employee Development, Performance Management, and Employee Engagement, (with a couple of extras), and one of the biggest parts of Employee Development is keeping workforce knowledge up, and supporting those that wish to learn additional skills.
We've found so many of our customers use a training provider like LinkedIn Learning or Udemy Business, they've also got free training material they share around on links, there's OneDrive and SharePoint for the internal facing training, and then the stragglers that sit on people's hard drive. It's a minefield to keep on top of, which is where the StaffCircle Course Library comes into it.
You can create a course library that houses all of your training links, course information, linking to skills and setting levels, as well as being able to see course ratings when employees complete the material and really understanding if you're getting what you're paying for!
So what's included in the connector?
The core elements to the connectors are:
- Connecting to your LinkedIn Learning, Udemy Business, or Cornerstone account
- Syncing course information (title, description, URL, ID, + more)
- Setting an auto-sync to only keep course information up to date, and chosing whether to sync courses by:
- Language
- Skill
- All Courses
- Receiving course completions meaning any open Training Objective that uses a course from your library will be automatically updated as "100% progress" and can be reviewed by the Manager during a skills assessment or check-in.
- In addition to this, if there's no Training Objective, that's not a problem, we'll create a Training Log on the employee's record to capture the relevant completion date and pass mark (pre-requisite: the "Automatically create training logs" setting in the Course Library must be enabled).
Important information
- If a Training Objective has been set up, and a course from the Course Library has been selected, but the course information from your LMS is updated, the Training Objective information will not change. If an employee is half way through their course, they will be able to continue with their course and won't encounter any disruption in experience.
- To access the LMS Integrations the View, Add, Update, Delete permissions are required to set-up and manage the connector.
Additional Release Items
Whilst this relese focused on the new LMS Connectors capability, there are additional items to help polish and enhance the platform.
- The Success Circle dialogue, when viewing as an employee, now respects the "View Internal Feedback" and "View Reviewer Feedback" settings in the Review Templates.
- Customised Today Screen's will now retain the component selection across logins.
- External Link sequences have been updated to stop showing the "are you sure?" dialogue once a link has been opened in a new tab.
- Notification Templates can no longer be renamed, however the ability to update the Subject and Body has remained.
- 'DBS' has been added to the 'Type of Licence, Permit, and Visa' drop down in the employee record.
- Add Objective dialogue, when adding objectives during a review, has been updated to the same Add Objective wizard managers already experience. This is to ensure consistent design across the platform.
