Absence Types

Absence Types: Overview

Absence Types provide users with options or categories for absences within the platform. Absence Types are selectable when a user submits an absence in the platform. 

Whilst 'Holiday' is a type of absence, other absence types may include appointments, sickness, jury service etc. An absence is defined as any time an employee spends away from the business.

Absence types can be configured in many ways, furtehr details of which can be found in this guide. Configuration options include self serve (employee can request this themselves), marked as 'paid' for reporting purposes etc.

Sub-types can be used to help define the absence further, for example you can ask the user to specify what type of illness or appointment they had/have. This produces more granular reports and can better identify trends.
