9 Box Grid

9 Box Grid: Create Review

The 9 Box grid works best for a single review - an annual review for example. The questions within the review which contribute to the 9 box have to be scored, and contain a combination of questions which relate to either POTENTIAL or PERFORMANCE.

Whilst the process of creating the review template itself is the same as any other review in StaffCircle. The feedback questions must be configured specifically to the 9 Box Grid.

For examples of 9 Box Grid questions, speak to your StaffCircle Advisor.

It is strongly advised that you refer to the guidance for feedback questions and review templates in conjunction with this guide.

Follow PART ONE of this guide before continuing the steps below.

Underneath the QUESTIONS area of the page, you can now start to add your 9 Box Grid questions. Click on the plus button and select scored options from the drop-down.

All questions which contribute to the 9 Box Grid must be scored questions

PERFORMANCE QUESTIONS: Toggle on Answer counts towards overall review score switch.

POTENTIAL QUESTIONS: Toggle on the Answer counts towards 9 box grid "Potential" score switch.

You can make the question mandatory by toggling on the Question must be answered button. We would recommend toggling this on for your 9 Box Grid-related questions.

Step Four

To associate the question with a company Competency you can select the competency from the drop-down. This will feed in to the employee's Success Circle.

Under the How would you like to receive feedback? area you can select whether you would like the feedback for this question to be optional, mandatory, or removed from the question completely.

Step Five

Finally, you will need to provide the options for the questions, for example 0 - unacceptable, 5 - outstanding. You can select your options/scores from the Use preset score template drop-down menu, or click the ADD SCORE TEMPLATE button at the bottom of the list to create new options/scores.

For the 9 Box Grid, we would recommend using a 1 - 5 scoring system
